The Weaver Who Saw Again

Banamali, a 52 year old handloom weaver from a small village in Bhapur, Dhenkanal, had been losing his eyesight slowly. His work his only means of livelihood became impossible. When our volunteers reached his village for an eye camp, Banamali was diagnosed with cataract in both eyes. With partial support for surgery through the Trust, he regained his sight. Today, he weaves again not just threads, but dreams for his family.

"I thought darkness was my destiny. Now, I see my loom, my wife, my children and my life again."

The Little Girl Who Could Read Again

Kalpana, an 11 year old from Koshala, Angul district, stopped going to school because she couldn't read the blackboard. Her teachers thought she had lost interest. During one of our school eye screening camps, we discovered she had severe refractive error. A simple pair of glasses changed everything. Today, Kalpana tops her class and dreams of becoming a teacher herself.
